I took this photo off the back deck about an hour and 20 minutes ago. At the moment the wind is blowing the fire to the east away from us. JW asked me what I would take if we had to evacuate and at first I felt overwhelmed at the idea. But after giving it some thought I realized my most precious things are my son and JW. And if we brought the cat carrier over from the shop so we could transport Fancy with us and we could also load our camping gear and we could at least have a place to sleep somewhere.This fire is in the same area that my hiking group was planning our hike tomorrow morning. I think we may change our plans!!
So at the moment we are okay and I will give updates if anything changes. I hope we didn't move all the way to beautiful Montana to be caught in a forest fire.

Those fires can be very frightening, but what puzzles me is how does it start!
I know people are mostly responsible and unfortunately there are always a few sickos on the loose.
But just imagine living in Australia Hostagirl - I'd have been A and away ages ago.
