SITES IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD

 Every time we go for a drive I see beautiful flowers everywhere!!

 

And being the person I am I can not pass them by without photographing them.  A trait taken from my Aunt Norma.  Thank you sweet Norma.

I enjoyed these pretty Iris' near the museum that is around the corner.

 

This town has a real love for Rhododendron's as they are blooming everywhere! 

 

The landscaping here is like no other town I have ever been to.

We took a drive yesterday and I found so many beautiful flowers in bloom.  This town sure have beautiful landscaping everywhere!!

 

We ventured to the sea today and passed this pretty site on the way.

 

We had a good time but this was our first trip to our favorite place by the sea without our 2 precious pups.

 

It just wasn't as much fun as it used to be.

I am working on helping Spring get here.

 I thought if I posted some pictures of my pretty yellow roses that maybe Spring would decide that it is time she showed up.

These pretty roses are tiny but full of fragrance that lasts for several weeks.

It is hard to believe that when they are in full bloom that their beautiful flower is the size of a dime coin.  Makes them even more precious.

And I am seeing more sightings of my favorite bird here on the harbor lately.  The Blue Heron is such a mystical bird and seems so mysterious as he stands quietly in the tall grass as I pass him by.  always a treat to see.

Beauty comes in all sizes at my house.  This beautiful pink rose is covered with this charming flower all through the summer and far into fall. The special thing about her is this bloom.  If you hold a dime next to her they are the same size.

Beauty can be found in the tiniest things too.

This is my Lupin leaf after one of our many rain storms.  This was their second year in my flower garden and this year they outdid themselves with all their beautiful blooms. There was Royal Blue, Baby Blue, Pretty Pink, Glory Red and Pretty Purple plus Pure White.

I love Nature.

A mountain full of color

This beautiful mountain is located in near my hometown in Wenatchee, Washington.
Many years ago a family that lived near this hillside decided to start a flower garden here to give beauty to their homestead.
And they continued to plant trees, flowers, shrubs and even installed ponds and rock paths thru out this amazing garden.  They opened their gardens to the public and I have spent many afternoons wondering through these acres of beauty.

You will notice immediately that I am showing a pink flower theme today. The skies have been a bit cloudy and grey and it is raining very hard at the moment so I decided that I needed a bright color in my life at this moment. So I have included photos of my pretty pink favorites from my yard.
This is my lovely Betty Boop Rose. Unfortunately she did not survive that hard freeze we received in June. She was so pretty.

This is a pretty Tulip that grew in my garden in Washington State. I hope to have many more tulips in our new home on the coast of Washington this summer.

 

This beautiful pink rose is one of my favorite flowers in my garden. Well, I must say after posting these Pink Beauties, that I do feel a bit better about the day. The seed catalogs are beginning to arrive so I can spend my wet, snowy days planning and dreaming until spring arrives...where ever we may be!

FRIDAY FLOWERS

Okay, now I am definitely ready for spring! I love daffodils and had these planted in my garden in Washington state. I haven't planted any here in Montana because the springs are so cool here. But they will be back in my life again, I am sure.
This exquisite Iris is one of my favorites. It is a Siberian Iris and grows very well here in Montana.

This pretty flower grows on a stem about 3 feet tall and it's leaves are spike like and are soft and blow so pretty in the breeze. All the books say this flower needs mild winters but this plant has survived, been divided a few times, and has stood temperature of 20 degree's below zero here in my garden. The colors are clear and vibrant with such interesting designs in the center of each flower. The beautiful tall leaves stay green all summer and die slowly into winter. I have had no problems dividing them any time through out the growing season.

I highly recommend this gem for your garden.
