This is the view we were blessed with on our Darby Walking Club walk on Tuesday morning. Beautiful weather considering it had snowed a bit the day before.
Our walking group spends an hour or two twice a week walking forest service roads, old logging roads, etc. in the West Fork area of the Bitter Rood valley. And each day we have had great weather, great views and lot's of wildlife to see. A very enjoyable group!
This is the type of terrain my new Hiking Group found today on our first hike of the year. The trail follows the Bear Creek with spectacular views of the mountains.
We stopped here and ate our snacks and just sat around visiting before we headed back down to the trail head. The hike lasted just over 2 hours and good weather was with us on this hike too.
I can't believe how many active, wonderful people I have already found in the beautiful valley! My walking club, which has about 8 members, goes out into the woods twice a week and my hiking club, which so far has about 12 people, plans two hikes a month. And with the activities of the walking club, and the great hikes to come with the hiking club, and then add in the daily speed walks I try to get in everyday, I have managed to loose 6 pounds in the month of March. What a fun way to loose weight and get in shape. I love this place!!!
