HAWK LIVING IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

This is a Rough-legged Hawk living in the neighborhood lately. He stands about 22 inches high and has a wing span of 4 and 1/2 feet.
I had pulled to the side of the road today as I was driving into town hoping to get a photo of this beautiful bird. I got the shot of him sitting on the electrical pole, then just as I put the camera back up to my eye he took flight. I was thrilled to see that I actually caught him in full wing...such a beautiful sight!

Wow, he is beautiful. Great shots and the one of him in flight is awesome. I wish I could get some pics of the hawks here on a good weather day.

We have some beautiful hawks here also. It is so neat to catch a glimpse of them on a fence post or watch them as the circle the fields. Thanks for the picture! Some people never take the time to look, much less share the experience.

We see hawks quite often soaring above the pasture looking for their dinner. Such majestic birds they are.

BTW the word verification is "birse"
a coincidence that it is close to bird, don't you think?

Hi Keewee, I have had to laugh at some of the verification words lately...you are right...someof them r4eally do match the posts!
