What's happening in Montana

This is the temperature at 6:30 this morning. Oh, the crisp cool air feels so good!!!

This is the view that shows our spectacular 10,000 foot Trapper Peak Mountain. Apparently it has been taken out for repairs because we can't see it anywhere today!

The forest seems to be burning everywhere in Montana. The news is filled with reports of evacuations and warnings all day. I have never seen so many fire fighting trucks as we have here in Darby. And there is no rain forcasted in the immediate future. The smoke is getting so thick that it hurts your eyes and effects your lungs. There isn't even a slight breeze around here today. And there is ash everywhere. Even my wonderful Hosta's on the deck have a heavy coating of ash on their beautiful leaves.
This is the paved road that is very close to our house and we turn off this road to get onto our road and in this picture the road doesn't exist! The smoke seems to be just lying on the valley floor. It looks like we are driving off into the end of the earth! I know the firefighters do not want any winds but it sure would be wonderful to clear the air even for just a bit.
We saw this beautiful car on our way to retrieve my prize winning photos at the Western Montana Fair yesterday. What a beauty. It just about broke JW's heart as he shared the stories of the same style of car that he owned when he was 18. If only we were smart enough and had a gigantic building and we still had all those wonderful cares from our younger days stored in there!!

I will try to post some pictures of my prize winning photo's before we head out on our Anniversary get a way. Yes, Keewee, it's been 4 years since you were my Maid of Honor in my wonderful wedding! Time does fly when you're having fun!!!
