CRAZY MONTANA WEATHER
a temperature change! But I must admit the cool air this morning did feel good.
But of course our rivers are running so high and fast and there is no fishing on the World Famous Bitterroot River at the moment. Below is a 34 second video I took of the river not far from our house this morning. We can actually here the roar of the river from our back deck which is about 1 and 1/2 miles from the river. What a strange sound it makes. You will be able to hear the rush of the water on the video.

What crazy weather we are having
This was the scenes we passed on our way home today. We are always amazed at the beauty of these mountains and each time they seem to offer a new and exciting look.
The below photo was taken very close to our home. The day before our neighborhood had experienced rain, hail, LOT'S of snow, wind and lightening that struck our road and the thunder cracked instantly following the flash from the lightening. Of course I always find the thunder so very exciting! And it can sure slam into these big beautiful mountains just above our house. What an amazing racket! The entire house and all the windows sound like they are going to rattle out of their frames.

How we spent Mother's Day
Mother's Day was a fun busy one for us this year. We spent most of the morning working out in the yard as it was the first nice sunny day in a long time. The flowers are starting to grow as are lot's of weeds so that always keeps me busy.
About 2:30 that afternoon we drove to the nearby Hot Springs and spent a few hours soaking in the wonderful hot water of a very big pool. It still had it's winter covering on it so the air inside was so nice and warm . It was so relaxing that we both felt as though we could have taken a nap while floating leisurely around the pool. They weren't too busy so we had lot's of room to just float around. It was difficult to climb out of this amazing natural wonder but we had more plans for the day so we each retired to the showers and dressing rooms.
At 5:30 we had a date at a local restaurant with several people in my walking group so we arrived just at 5:30 as it was just a few miles back down the road from the Hot Springs. The place was crowded but we had made reservations so we joined those in our group that were already there. It was a fun evening of visiting but neither JW or I had a meal that we would be happy with. My steak had to be returned to the kitchen 3 times to try to get it right and the third time it was so over done that I could barely cut it with a steak knife. So I gave up on that. Yes, I have always been warned about sending food back to the kitchen and I was not thrilled to have to do it 3 times.
JW ordered a simple green salad and a baked potato...simple right?...no! He asked for a dinner salad made of Ice Burg Lettuce and she brought him a salad of spinach...not good. I forgot to say that we did arrive at the reservation time of 5:30 but did not get out order taken till we had been there over 30 minutes. By 6:30 we still hadn't received our order and sensed that things were not going to turn out well. It was well after 7:00 before any one's meal arrived and JW was patiently waiting for his baked potato. At 7:30 I turned to JW and said "Don't you think we have waited long enough for your simple baked potato to arrive? I think it is time to leave this place and go home and get something for both of us to eat." So we went to the register and told the waitress to take the potato off our bill....and we would not be returning to there establishment. Of course she apologized but that came a bit too late.
So a day that started out so wonderful and so relaxing at the Hot Springs, didn't end very well for both of us. And it's really a shame as we are very limited when it comes to places to eat out here at this end of the valley.

I am back---No, really!!
Spread the Stupidity
Only in America ......do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
Only in America.....do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.
Only in America.....do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.
Only in America.....do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.
Only in America.......do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.
Only in America.....do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering.
EVER WONDER ....
Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?
Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?
Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word?
Why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice'?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dish washing liquid made with real lemons?
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?
Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?

I am sorry that I have been away for such a long time. Life has been a roller coaster around here lately and sometimes I feel like I have fallen off of it!! Our weather has been amazing....4 days of rain, snow this afternoon along with hail, wind, and now lot's of beautiful sunshine. And of course because of all the rain my lawn has grown way to much. It is much to wet to get out the lawn mower yet. I hate to have to spend half a day raking it after I have mowed but that looks like a possibility for the near future.
The puppy is keeping me busy as we are taking nice long walks at least twice a day together. I am not sure which of us enjoys that the most.
We have plans to visit the local Hot Springs on Mothers day and then visit a new restaurant for dinner. Now that sounds like a nice afternoon!
