We received the strangest box yesterday. When we opened it we still didn't know just what to think. What in the world could this strange thing be???? Okay, were just kidding!
This is our cat Fancie and she has climbed into a large box that I use to hold my packing peanuts for my ebay sale items. We find her in this box quite often, buried as deep down as she can get, sleeping her days away. What a life!

MAY 24, 2008

With the warm days and nights that we had earlier this week and today with lot's of rain my plants are trying to keep on growing even though it is cool today.Just a year ago today we received lot's of snow again so I...and the plants...never know what to expect each day.
My Hosta's seem pretty happy nestled on our back deck. The do need to be moved out where they can get more light but I think I will wait till this cold front moves on through. I have tended to them since last fall and I don't want to loose them after all of that!

I don't think there is any type of weather that can discourage these pretty little Johnnie Jump ups. I find them everywhere in my flower beds. You believe it's spring when you see these cute little flowers smiling up at you.
So I am going to continuing to believe that spring is really here and I can get back on my lawn mower in a day or two to get my lawn looking beautiful.

RIVERFRONT PROPERTY FOR SALE...OOPS!!...MAYBE THAT SHOULD BE RIVER PROPERTY FOR SALE!! I THINK YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR HOUSE BOAT FOR THIS LOVELY SPOT OF LAND(?)!

THE WATER MOVING DOWN THE CENTER OF THE PHOTO IS ACTUALLY DRY LAND DURING THE DRIER MONTHS OF THE YEAR. SO DON'T MAKE THIS YOUR FRONT DOOR AREA!!!!

THIS IS A OLD WOODEN BRIDGE THAT ACTUALLY CARRIES CARS TO THE NEARBY PROPERTY OWNERS HOMES. AND IT DOES LOOK IN DANGER OF WASHING AWAY. THE HOME OWNERS ARE PARKING THEIR CARS ON THE HIGHWAY SIDE OF THE RIVER. AND THERE IS A BRIDGE NEARBY THAT CAN BE ACCESSED ONLY ON FOOT TO REACH THEIR CARS.

ALL WINTER LONG THE LOCALS HAVE SAID HOW BADLY WE NEED A GOOD SNOW PACK AND SINCE THE WEATHER HAS WARMED THEY ARE ALL SAYING WE NEED A GOOD RAIN. WELL, WE HAVE A MASSIVE SNOW PACK IN THE SURROUNDING MOUNTAINS AND IT HAS BEEN RAINING FOR MOST OF THE NIGHT AND IS CONTINUING AS I POST. SO I GUESS THE OLD SAYING IS APPROPRIATE...BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!

At last I am feeling more caught up on all my chores here at home and have caught up on all my eBay activities. The 3 day rummage sale really took "the wind out of my sails" so to speak. So I spent yesterday doing nothing but actually sitting on the sofa reading and napping...something I have never done! But I must say I sure feel better today.

Our weather has been in the high 80's but starting today the temperature has dropped into the low 60's and should stay that way for the rest of the week. My poor outdoor plants don't know if they should grow or crawl back into their pots and go back to sleep. The huge Lilac bushes in the back yard are starting to show their beautiful purple color and I can't wait to see them in full bloom and post their picture on this blog. A year ago today we received 4 inches of snow and the poor humming birds spent the entire day hiding in the lilac bushes that were bent to the ground with the weight of the snow. Brr!! All of our rivers are flooding so I sure hope we can go a bit without any addition moisture of any kind! I will try to get to the river and take a picture for my next post.

I MUST SAY THAT I THINK I AM A LITTLE ON THE HAPPY SIDE THAT THIS WEEK IS COMING TO A CLOSE. AFTER SPENDING 3 FULL LONG DAYS AT OUR FUNDRAISER GARAGE-A-RAMA FOR OUR WONDERFUL LITTLE LIBRARY, I CAN SEEM TO THINK OF NOTHING BUT TAKING A VERY LONG NAP.

THE GOOD NEWS IS...WE MADE AN AMAZING AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR OUR WONDERFUL LIBRARY!! WE RAISED ALMOST $3,OOO THAT GOES TO THIS BEAUTIFUL LITTLE LIBRARY IN THIS INCREDIBLE LITTLE TOWN. WHAT A AWESOME PLACE TO LIVE!!!

SO I AM SCHEDULED FOR NAP NUMBER 2 IN JUST A FEW MINUTES SO I CAN BE UP JUST IN TIME TO EAT LUNCH. AND OF COURSE ANOTHER NAP IS SCHEDULED EARLY AFTERNOON. GOSH, I HAD BETTER HURRY! HAVE A GREAT DAY.

My Library fundraising group had our community Garage-A -Rama today and I am exhausted this evening. The community brought in the donations yesterday and we spent the entire afternoon unpacking, pricing and getting everything out on the designated tables. We finally finished this task about 6:30. It was wonderful to fall into bed last night and very hard to crawl back out early this morning.

The day long sale was amazing....we had to keep emptying boxes we had under the tables to keep restocking. We had a great attendance and were all pretty happy when left for home this evening. We head back there at 7:30 in the morning for the final day of sales. We open at 8:00 am and close at noon with large mark downs starting at 10:00. So hopefully this will be another successful day for us. Keep your fingers cross. We hold these events to earn money for our wonderful community library that is ranked among the top 100 libraries in America. Yes, we are very proud and hope to be able to purchase lot's more books for this amazing little library. Not bad for a little town in Montana with a population of 800 wonderful people! I will report more tomorrow!

THIS IS THE KIND OF DAY THAT LEAVES ME FEELING THAT I SHOULD JUST TAKE A NAP AND LET THE WORLD GO BY!

WE HAD A LIGHT SNOW STORM THIS MORNING AND NOW THE TEMPERATURE IS 50 DEGREES. I WISH SPRING WOULD STAY MORE THAN JUST A DAY A WEEK.

MY HOSTA PLANTS HAVE STARTED THEIR BEAUTIFUL GROWTH AND IT DOES APPEAR TO ME THAT SO FAR EACH OF THEM HAVE SURVIVED OUR TERRIBLE WINTER. BUT OF COURSE IT IS NOW THE SPRING FREEZES WE ARE HAVING THAT HAS ME WORRIED. CAN YOU IMAGINE....THEY SURVIVED 8 DEGREE WEATHER BUT I COULD LOOSE THEM TO SPRING TEMPERATURES. DARN.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

________________________________________________________________ Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests
or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

MAYBE IT WAS A BIT TO SOON TO TURN ON THE FOUNTAIN!!

ALL OF MY FLOWER BEDS ARE BEGINNING TO SHOW SOME COLOR SO I WAS CERTAIN THAT IT MEANT SPRING WAS HERE. WELL, I WAS PROVEN WRONG AGAIN THIS MORNING WHEN I LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW AND SAW OUR PRETTY WATER FOUNTAIN.........
Yes, I do believe I did turn on the fountain just a little bit to soon but I am sick and tired of this season. When I checked the temperature on the back deck this morning at 6:30 it actually said 22 degrees. Oh come on!!!!!! ENOUGH ALREADY!
SO I GUESS I HAVE A REASON TO STAY INSIDE AND WORK MORE ON MY EBAY STORE. I HAD THOUGHT OF MOWING THE BACK YARD TODAY BUT IT WAS JUST TO COLD....AND THE NEIGHBORS WOULD THINK I REALLY WAS CRAZY! AND JW IS ANXIOUS TO GET THIS YEARS PEA PATCH PLANTED BUT I THINK WE HAD BETTER WAIT ON THAT TOO. SO IF ANYONE HAS ANY SPARE SUNSHINE AND WARM DAYS TO SPARE PLEASE SEND THEM OUR WAY.
